Dedham Square Circle is holding its second annual “Best Dressed Holiday Storefront” contest for Dedham Square merchants to compete for the most festive and best-decorated-for-the-holidays storefront window.
Merchants will also have voting ballots at their shops which can be filled out and put in the contest ballot box in the lobby of the Dedham Community Theatre.
Voting ends at 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 3. Dedham Square Circle will announce the winner online on Tuesday, Dec. 4.
“We’re encouraging a friendly competition among the merchants in the Square to transform their storefronts into something special for the holiday season,” said Dedham Square Circle Executive Director Amy Haelsen. “We’re amazed at how creative the windows are this year and how enthusiastic the merchants have been about participating.”
Haelsen added that the objective in running the contest is to make the Square look and feel more festive in time for the Annual Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. “Our goal is to bring new and repeat visitors to the Square to celebrate the holidays and to support the small business community.”
Founded in 2006, the Dedham Square Circle is a non-profit volunteer driven organization committed to invigorating Dedham Square by increasing its economic prosperity, promoting its rich history, arts and culture, and aesthetically enhancing the Square’s physical environment to benefit the entire community.
