Kathryn Bigelow Movie to be Filmed in Dedham

Some scenes will be shot inside Dedham District Court.

DEDHAM, MA — Labor Day weekend will be used to film a movie at Dedham District Court.

Thursday night, the selectmen signed off on the movie shoot, scheduled for Sept. 2-4. Abutting neighbors will be notified of the shoot via flyers to be posted in the area. The flyer will include a phone number for residents to call with questions or concerns.

Representatives for the movie said filming will mostly be done inside the courtroom. The first day is scheduled to be a prep day with a reduced crew. Filming is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

As to what movie will be shot inside the courthouse, the selectmen were told that it’s Kathryn Bigelow’s untitled project on the 1967 Detroit Riots. The movie is set to star Hannah Murray, Will Poulter, Jack Reynor, Anthony Mackie, Joseph David-Jones, and John Boyega.
