Two Charged with Stealing Nearly $1,000 in Merchandise at Dedham Mall
Two shoplifters were taken into custody Saturday.

DEDHAM, MA - Two people face charges after allegedly stealing nearly $1,000 in merchandise.
On Jan. 23, police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Dedham Mall. While on the way, officers were informed that one suspect was heading towards a car in the parking lot on the Washington Street side of the mall. After arriving, police observed a male carrying a pink bag walking across the lot.
Once the suspect saw the cruiser, he began to run towards a vehicle in the lot. Police were able to block the vehicle from leaving and the suspect, identified as Cheval Holmes, 46, was arrested and taken into custody. The value of the items taken was $540.

Police were also informed of a second person who was also suspected of concealing items in the store, with loss prevention requesting that the officers stay until she left.
After about 20 minutes, the woman, identified as Nina James, 44, exited the store and started heading towards the Washington Street side of the mall. Police approached James as the started to leave the store and arrested her. The value of the items allegedly taken was $439.95.
