Colton Scores High Marks With Easton Selectmen

 

According to the five Easton Selectmen, Town Administrator David Colton is meeting or exceeding expectations in all of his performance areas.

Colton underwent his sixth performance review recently, in which he evaluated himself and asked the Selectmen to weigh in on his performance.

The areas of performance included:

  • Financial
  • Human Resources Management and Labor Relations
  • Community Relations
  • Quality of Life
  • Planning and Economic Development
  • Infrastructure and Public Works
  • Town Government Efficiency and Effectiveness
  • Service and Support to the Board of Selectmen
  • Relationships with Other Levels of Government
  • Personal and Professional Growth

Colton and the Selectmen could grade him on the subjective scale of "exceeds expectations", "meets expectations" or "failed to meet expectations." In all areas, both he and the Selectmen scored Colton as "exceeds expectations" or "meets expectations."

In his Financial assessment, Colton said he exceeded expectations. Selectmen Ellen Barlow, Colleen Corona, Dan Murphy and Sean Noonan agreed. Todd Gornstein said Colton met expecations.

In Human Resources Management and Labor Relations, Colton said he exceeded expectations. Each Selectman agreed.

In Community Relations, Colton said he met expecations. Barlow, Gornstein and Noonan said he exceeded expectations while Corona and Murphy said he met expectations.

In Quality of Life, Colton said he met expectations. Barlow said he exceeded expecations while the other four selectmen said he met expectations.

For Planning and Economic Development, Colton said he exceeded expectations. The selectmen unanimously agreed.

In Infrastructure and Planning, Colton said he exceeded expectations. Barlow, Corona, Gornstein and Noonan agreed. Murphy said he met expecations.

Colton said he met expectations for Town Government Efficiency and Effectiveness. Corona, Gornstein, Murphy and Noonan agreed while Barlow said he exceeded expectations.

Colton and the Selectmen agreed that he met expectations for Service and Support to the Board of Selectmen.

Everyone was in agreement that he exceeded expectations in Relationships with Other Levels of Government.

In Personal and Professional Growth, Colton said he met expectations. Barlow graded him as "Meets/Exceeds Expectations." Corona, Noonan and Murphy said he met expectations.

"In the short time I have had the pleasure of knowing David, he has always seemed to be making efforts to advance his knowledge and ability to advance professionally," Gornstein wrote in his evaluation.
