Kenny Chesney Gets an Extended Curfew for Gillette Stadium Shows
The country star has the town's blessing to play past the town's 11:15 p.m. curfew.

FOXBOROUGH, MA — Fans at this year’s Kenny Chesney shows at Gillette Stadium can expect a longer show this year than originally thought.
Tuesday night, the selectmen voted 3-2 to allow for an extended curfew for both shows later this month. The Aug. 26 show now has a curfew of 11:30 p.m. and the concert the next night has an end time of 11:40 p.m. Gillette Stadium could face a fine if either show goes over time.
Selectmen Jim DeVellis and Ginny Coppola voted against the later shows.

Stadium officials say the later time is needed to accommodate Chesney and some end of the tour activities. During the last stop on the tour, the country singer brings up his crew on stage as a thank you for their work.
While no public safety or stadium officials were on hand for the discussion, Keegan told the board that he was informed by Stadium Advisory Committee Chairman George Bell that his board had no issues with the request.

Selectman Jim DeVellis voted against the approval, simply not seeing the need.
“It’s not an emergency situation. There’s a point where we say here’s our rules and regulations,” DeVellis said. “I thought we would have someone at this table to discuss this. It’s not a gimme. I don’t think it has the merit to say we’re going to change our policy.”
Both Coppola and DeVellis said they have heard from neighbors near the stadium that are irritated by the late-ending concerts but think that commenting or issuing a complaint would do nothing.
Selectman Mark Elfman voted in favor, noting the weekend dates and recalling that the board said during the Guns N' Roses hearing that they would consider an extension if the show took place on a weekend night, rather than a weekday.
Chairman David Feldman voted for the extension but said this wasn’t likely the end of the discussion.
“I think we have to look at our regulations. Just like we look at our liquor license regulations, I think this needs to come under review as well,” Feldman said.
Kenny Chesney, Sam Hunt, Miranda Lambert, and Old Dominion come to Gillette Stadium on Aug. 26 and 27. Both shows start at 5 p.m.
