announced yesterday plans to raise money for the Japanese Red Cross to aid victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami, through two unique fundraising programs.
On Wednesday, April 13, the restaurant will host a day dedicated to the people of Japan. Throughout the day (from 11:30 a.m. to midnight), 30% of all sales will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross for the purpose of relief efforts.
In addition, the restaurant has created a new sushi roll to raise money. Called the Tsunami Roll, it is available only through April 21; and 100% of sales will go to the Japanese Red Cross.
“We recognize that Japan has a long road to recovery,” said Joseph Zhang, owner of Samba Steak and Sushi House. "Efforts like these can help Japan face the immediate crises of food and health, so the Japanese government can focus on rebuilding their country.”
Samba Steak and Sushi House is a fusion restaurant offering hibachi, sushi and entrees that combine traditional Japanese cuisine with South American spices.
