Five Things to Know on Jan. 24: The History of 300 at Main

Today is Thursday, Jan. 24. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham

1. Teens: Thursday will again will a very cold day, with the high temperature again forecasted to stay under 20 degrees. The sky will again be sunny and the wind will blow from the northwest with gusts up to 32 miles per hour. The windchills could be as low as -13 degrees.

2. 300 Main: You’ll have a chance to hear more about the history of 300 Main St. in Wenham on Thursday at the Wenham Senior Center. The program starts at 11 a.m. and is free. It will be followed by lunch for $3. Hauck will talk about the historic building at the 300 at Main plaza off Route 1A on the Hamilton town line.

3. Entrepreneurs: A new group called Young Entrepreneurs of the North Shore meets for the first time on Thursday. It seems likely there are residents in the two towns that may be interested in becoming part of this group, which is designed to bring together the “best and brightest young entrepreneurs in the region.”  Thursday’s function is at Finz in Salem on Thursday from 7-10 p.m. and is free.

4. Theater Workshop: Thursday is the deadline to sign up for the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham's new Theater Workshop for Kids. The new series for young aspiring actors is for grades 2-5 and will be held on Saturdays from Jan. 26–March 9. The program will start with theater games to warm up and then the group will work together to learn and rehearse a play that will be presented at the end to friends and family. The cost is $135 per session.

5. School Committee: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee meets on Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Buker Elementary School where it will hear about the food services budget and a presentation about special education, among other items.
