Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: Sept. 14

Today is Friday, Sept. 14. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Repeat: Friday will shape up looking much like Thursday weatherwise. There will be sunny skies and temperatures close to 80.

2. Book Sale: The Friends of Hamilton-Wenham Library’s book sale officially starts on Friday at , but members of the Friends group get a special sneak preview on Friday night from 6-8 p.m. And if you want to take part in the sneak preview you can become a Friends member at the door.

3. Brad Hill: State Rep. Brad Hill, R-Ipswich, represents both Hamilton and Wenham on Beacon Hill. And he’s hosting office hours this morning in both towns to hear from his constituents. He’ll be at from and at from

4. Styrofoam: Ipswich has a special recycling day planned for next Saturday, Sept. 22 where Styrofoam will be collected at no charge and open to Hamilton and Wenham residents. The collections runs 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at (Ipswich’s) Winthrop School on Route 1A. Scrap metal and electronics will also be collected for a fee and household items can be donated.

5. Memoir Writing: Have you always wanted to write your life story and never had the chance? is hosting a memoir-writing workshop that starts next week and will help participants craft a captivating written story. It starts on Monday and runs for six weeks. The instructor is Shelby Siems and the cost is $89 per person. The deadline to sign up is Friday at noon.
