Beverly Police Officer Jason Lantych was shot by a Hamilton police sergeant outside Starbucks in February.

Officer Shot by Hamilton Sgt. Returns To Beverly Police

The Beverly officer shot by a Hamilton Police sergeant in Beverly February has recovered from serious gun shot wounds and returned to the job,  the Salem News reports.

 Officer Jason Lantych rejoined the force on Aug. 13.

Lantych, 35, has been on the Beverly Police Department for 10 years, formerly serving as the department’s school resource officer. 

by  Sgt. Ken Nagy outside Starbucks at 29 Enon St. in North Beverly on Feb. 24. Lantych was shot in the wrist and leg, and was listed at that time in serious condition at .

Later that night, Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett announced that Nagy was wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous. Minutes later, Nagy and shot himself to death in his sport utility vehicle.

Blodgett said the shooting was because of between Lantych and Nagy's wife. 

Lantych told the Salem News he feels "blessed" to be working again and thanks the community, his colleagues and family for their support during his recovery.
