Poll: Coakley Leads Baker in Mass. Governor's Race
A new poll released Thursday shows Democrat Martha Coakley with a significant lead over Republican Charlie Baker in the 2014 Massachusetts governor's race.

The poll, conducted by Purple Strategies, a bipartisan public affairs firm, shows that with 10 months to go before the election, Coakley holds a 46 to 36 percent lead over Baker and an even larger 50 to 30 percent lead over Republican candidate Mark Fisher. Democrat Steve Grossman, meanwhile, fares much worse against Baker, trailing Baker 35 to 34 percent. He leads Fisher by 9 percentage points.

The poll also shows that U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is the most popular statewide elected official, with 51 percent favorability. As he prepares to leave office, Democratic Gov. Deval Patrick's favorability is slightly lower, at 46 percent.
