The weekend is here and Hamilton-Wenham Patch delivers you our for a great late summer weekend. Below is a quick rundown on some weekend activity options in Hamilton and Wenham, plus in neighboring Beverly and Danvers.

Where/When: ; Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20 and 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: It’s the last weekend of the model ship show at the museum, which puts on display models of American war ships from the Civil War to today, built by local members of the Cape Ann, Peabody and Constitution Ship Model Clubs.

Pricing: Included in museum admission – adults $7.50, children $5.50.


Where/When: ; Saturday, Aug. 20, 3-4:30 p.m.

Why Go: This is a great way to get an inside look at the milking process firsthand. Appleton Farms opens up its dairy barn during the milking process to allow visitors seeing how mile gets from a cow to your glass. Visitors will also get a chance to meet calves and heifers up close.

Pricing: Trustees of the Reservation members $4, nonmembers $5


Where/When: Essex Park Nursing and Rehabilitation, 265 Essex St., Beverly; Saturday, Aug. 20, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Why Go: The charity dog wash will be a fun way to get your dog smelling good and all clean while helping the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation. There will also be demonstration of a guide dog and a dog from the Essex County Sheriff’s office on display.

Pricing: $5 donation for a shampoo, rinse and dry.


Where/When: ; Saturday, Aug. 20, 2-4 p.m.

Why Go: The Saturday afternoon showing of “The Tailor of Panama” is part of the summer long adult reading theme “Novel Destinations” where each movie has been set in a foreign country. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon watching a movie in a less traditional setting at a local North Shore library.

Pricing: Free


Where/When: ; Sunday, Aug. 21, gates open at 1:30 p.m., match starts at 3 p.m.

Why Go: Polo in Hamilton is a great way to enjoy a beautiful late-summer afternoon with friends and family. Get there early to grab a good spot, pack plenty of food and drink and make an afternoon of it at the polo fields.

Pricing: $10 per person
