Boston Magazine recognized Hingham High School as one of the best public high schools in the state.

The hard work of teachers, faculty and students was recognized locally this week as HHS was named one of the 50 best public high schools in Massachusetts.

The list released by Boston Magazine and posted on WCVB.com,  was made up of the high schools within interstate 495. The ranking were based on many factors including student-teacher ratio, per-pupil expenditure, graduation rate, MCAS scores and the percent of student going to college.  The number of clubs and varsity sports were also included in deciding the rankings.

Hingham High School was ranked No. 32 out of 50, just ahead of nearby Duxbury (No. 33) and below the neighboring towns of Norwell (No. 30) and Cohasset (No. 29).  No other South Shore schools along route 3 made the list.
