Hopkinton Police Log: Hurricane Sandy, One Arrest

The following information was provided by the Police Department. Charges do not indicate a conviction. All arrests are reported.

Hopkinton Police Log: Hurricane Sandy, One Arrest

Monday, Oct. 29

Continuing: Throughout the day officers from the Hopkinton Police Department responded to many calls regarding damage from Hurricane Sandy. Some incidents are highlighted below with the other daily incidents.

6:46 a.m.: An officer assisted with a disabled motor vehicle on Hayden Rowe Street.

8:06 a.m.: A caller from the Hopkinton Fire Department reported a tree leaning on the primary electric wire on Ash Street. NStar was notified.

8:33 a.m.: A caller reported a road rage incident on School Street. Officers responded but were unable to find the suspect vehicle.

9:58 a.m.: A 911 caller reported wires down on Wilson Street causing a small fire. The road was shut down.

12:49 p.m.: A caller from the Department of Public Works reported a tree and wires leaning over Clinton Street and making it impassable for large vehicles.

1:13 p.m.: A caller from Cedar Street reported that a large tree fell and hit their vehicle causing damage.

1:25 p.m.: An officer closed of School Street after a tree blocked the road.

2:36 p.m.: A caller reported that her vehicle was involved in a hit and run crash on South Street.

3:59 p.m.: An officer stood by while the fire department and NStar worked to remove a tree from the wires behind the Hopkinton Public Schools building.

4:51 p.m.: An officer blocked of Front Street after a large tree fell.

9:12 p.m.: A caller from Main Street reported that a drain problem was causing her basement to flood.

9:00 p.m.: The Milford deputy police chief contacted the Hopkinton Police Department about covering Milford’s 911 calls. The Milford 911 system was not working properly.

10:02 p.m.: An officer stopped a vehicle on West Main Street and arrested Jennah P. Collins, 22, of 3 Centennial St., Apt. 6, Upton. Collins was charged operating with a suspended license and operating while a when a license had been suspended for drunken-driving.

Tuesday, Oct. 30

1:00 a.m.: A caller reported a tree that was blocking part of Saddle Hill Road.

1:22 p.m.: A 911 caller reported a past breaking and entering from a motor vehicle on B Street.

2:17 p.m.: A second caller from B Street reported a past breaking and entering.

5:28 p.m.: A caller reported that a man wearing black followed her 15-year-old son in to the woods on Fruit Street. Officers responded but were unable to find the man.
