Fitness Guru Billy Blanks Jr. to Deliver Keynote Address At Whittier Street Health Center’s Annual Men’s Health Summit

Billy and Sharon Blanks to run complimentary one-hour fitness workshop

(Boston, MA) Fitness expert and choreographer Billy Blanks Jr. will be the keynote speaker for Whittier Street Health Center’s annual free Men’s Health Summit Celebrating the Great Things Our Boys and Men Bring to Our Lives on Saturday, June 28, 2014, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., 1290 Tremont St., Roxbury, MA. As part of the day’s festivities, Billy Blanks Jr. and Sharon Catherine Blanks will conduct a moderate level complimentary one-hour fitness course. The summit, free and open to the public, will also feature a health fair, health screenings and rapid HIV testing, live entertainment, a youth workshop, raffles and giveaways, and a formal program that includes an awards ceremony honoring local health champions.

An integral part of the summit is providing a general understanding of boys’ and men’s health and educating boys and men on the importance of getting screened for diseases for which they may be at risk. More than 300 people are expected to attend the summit. The goal of the summit is to engage men and boys in wellness programs to support their mental, physical and social health, and celebrate their achievements.
