Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 25

Today is Friday, January 25th. Here are five things you need to know.

Coffee House Tonight: Coming up tonight – it’s the next coffeehouse at the UCC Congregational Church on Salem Street in Lynnfield, featuring the “Just Harry Ensemble.” Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and show goes from 7:45 to 9 p.m. Click here for information on the upcoming artists to be featured at the UCC coffeehouse.

Take Your Child To The Library: Coming up Saturday, February 2nd – It’s “Take Your Child To The Library Day.” From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., bring the kids by the Lynnfield Library and check out the children’s collections of books, movies and more, play with the library’s puppet theater and do some puzzles on the caterpillar table in the children’s room.

Valentine’s Day Concert: So what are you doing on Valentine’s Day? One local idea is that “Rags to Riches” concert in downtown Wakefield on February 14th, featuring the New England Tenors. Tickets are $30. Click here for more information

Breakheart Reservation History: On Friday, Jan. 25 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Breakeart Visitors Center (177 Forest Street, Saugus) local authors, Alison Simcox and Douglas Heath will trace the natural and cultural history of Breakheart Reservation from its glacial origins and use by Paleo-Indians to modern times.  Their first book, "Lake Quannapowitt" came out in 2011.  Both books are published by Arcadia Publishing, a leading publisher of local and regional history in the United States.
