Five Things You Need To Know: Jan. 9

Today is Wednesday, January 9th. Here are five things to know.

Fun And Healthy Drinks: Today at 3 p.m. at the Lynnfield Library, nutritionist and cookbook author Anna Tourkakis gives a presentation on “Fun and Healthy Drinks.” Some possible selections, according to the library, include spiced hot chocolate and pomegranate cocktail. Anna will also provide recipes.  .

Goldilocks And The Three Bears: That’s not all that’s going on today at the Lynnfield Library – There’s a Goldilocks and the Three Bears Pajama Party at 6:30 p.m. Bring the kids by to hear the classic story and then to enjoy some “just right” porridge with juice and to do a craft.

Lunch and Lecture – Foot Health: Maureen Palla from Home Health VNA will be here with a presentation that covers proper inspection of the feet, range of motion, abnormalities and protection.  Tuesday, Jan. 15th at 12:15. Free. Please sign up. Lunch will be served at 11:30 for $2.00/$3.00. You must sign up for lunch by 12 noon the day before. Please sign up separately for the lunch and lecture.

Tonight at 7 p.m., Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield will offer a program on making your older home more energy efficient while retaining its historical character. Sally Zimmerman, Manager of Historic Preservation Services at Historic New England, will present a historic preservation perspective on insulation, window repair, air sealing, and renewable energy options in the older or historic home.

Linden Tree Coffeehouse: Saturday, January 12 at 8 p.m., Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen play folk music at the Linden Tree Coffeehouse at the Unitarian Church in downtown Wakefield. Tickets are $20. For more information, click here.
