Mystic River Rugby Clinches Spot in USA Rugby Nationals Sweet 16

After a dominant Northeast 7s season, the Mystic River Rugby Club has clinched their spot in the USA Rugby National Sweet 16 with two 25+ point victories at the Blazing 7s tournament in New Jersey last weekend!

The Mystics will be traveling to Des Moines, Iowa for the tournament on August 8-9. Given their strong showing in the Northeast competition, the Mystics are looking to make a serious run at Nationals this year. As part of that effort. A team comprised of local, homegrown, and international players who all play in addition to working part and full-time jobs, the squad seeks financial support from local communities in hopes of aiding the financial burden that each player faces to travel and compete at the elite level.

The team has created an IndieGoGo campaign to help raise money towards the overall costs of the trip, and are asking any and all Mystic supporters to help by donating AND by spreading the word about the campaign. Mystic is hoping to get donations of all amounts – you can donate $5, $10, $20 or as much as you can. Every dollar will go towards one of the following expenses:

• $5 will buy breakfast for one player; $150 will pay for 30
• $10 will buy lunch for one player; $300 will pay for 30
• $15 will buy 10 cases of bottled water
• $20 will buy dinner for one player; $600 will pay for 30
• $150 will pay for lodging for one player
• $500 will pay for one player’s flight
