Rainbow Flag Goes Missing From Malden Church
First Parish said they believe the flag was stolen Halloween night. The church will replace it after its service Sunday.

MALDEN, MA – A rainbow flag is missing from the front lawn of a Malden church, in what the parish believes was a Halloween "prank."
Officials at First Parish, a Unitarian Universalist church on Elm Street, said on Facebook Thursday they think it's likely the flag was stolen Halloween night and called its absence "meaningful" to the community.
The church has filed a report with the Malden Police Department, but in the meantime will replace it Sunday morning after its service. A small ceremony and "words of reflection" will accompany the flag raising.

This is not the first time the church has had trouble with its rainbow flag – over the summer, a previous flag was slashed and stabbed. It was replaced with the now-missing rainbow flag in September.
"All are welcome to join us as we reaffirm our stance on the Side of Love," First Parish wrote about Sunday's ceremony.
