RESULTS: State Rep., 33rd Middlesex District, Democratic Primary

Steven Ultrino, Malden’s Ward 2 City Councillor, defeated Neil Kinnon, the Ward 6 City Councillor, Tuesday in the Democratic Primary for the 33rd Middlesex District State Representative seat, being vacated by Christopher Fallon, according to Progressive Massachusetts.

Fallon, a Democrat and 17-year incumbent, did not seek reelection after announcing that he will retire from politics at the end of his term.
Ultrino, of Adams Street, will now face off against John Matheson, the Ward 3 City Councillor and independent candidate, in the election on Tuesday, Nov. 4. No Republican is running for the seat.

The 33rd Middlesex District covers the following wards and precincts in Malden: Ward 2, precinct 1 of Ward 3, Ward 4, precinct 1 of Ward 5, Ward 6, precinct 2 of Ward 7 and Ward 8.
