School Janitor Accused of Indecent Exposure to Children was Just Using the Bathroom
An employee at a Catholic school in Revere was accused of exposing himself to young boys on three separate occasions.
Police will not pursue charges against a Revere school janitor accused of exposing himself to young boys in the bathroom, according to boston.com. After an investigation, detectives found the janitor had not intended to reveal himself, but instead was just using the urinal in a boys’ bathroom at the school.
A boy at Immaculate Conception School, 127 Winthrop Ave., in Revere, told a parent he had seen the 64-year-old man using the bathroom. The parent then called the school and asked that adults not be allowed to use children’s bathrooms, the Revere Journal said.
Immaculate Conception is a catholic school for students in preschool through eighth grade.

The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office released a statement stating, “the employee did not engage in physical contact, use sexual language, or engage in other behavior that would support criminal charges,” according to boston.com.
The situation was simply a misunderstanding that got out of hand, police told the Revere Journal.
Though the janitor has been cleared of charges, three Immaculate Conception staff members have since resigned due to the allegations, Fox 25 reported.
A pastor, teacher and the principal of the school were criticized for not reporting the incidents in a timely manner. They all took responsibility for their actions and resigned, the Archdiocese of Boston said in a statement.
Parents were upset about the incident and the school’s silence.
“I think the [church] is so worried about public perception, they’re willing to sacrifice good quality people in order to look good on paper,” Jeffrey Turco, a father who has three children in the school, said to Fox 25.
The janitor had used the boys’ bathroom several times throughout December, but school officials did not report the incidents to parents until Jan. 12.
