Sneak Peek Haley's Market Cafe: The space formerly occupied by The Rockhopper Cafe will reopen in mid-January as Haley's Market Cafe and work inside is in full swing. The new downtown eatery will be opened by Haley's Wine and Spirits owners Julie Vinette and Paul Baker, who originally ran Foodie's Feast in the same space before it was sold and reopened as The Rockhopper.

Fire Investigations Determined Cause of McKinley Road Fire: Local fire investigators have determined that a blaze that consumed a home on McKinley Road last week was caused by a malfunction with the home's oil burner. According to fire Capt. Michael Porter, fire investigators have ruled that the fire was "accidental in nature with a probable mechanical event with an oil-fired appliance."

Collecting Snowflakes for Sandy Hook: A local family with Newtown ties is helping organize Snowflakes for Sandy Hook. "As past residents of lovely Newtown (and as parents), we are (like many of you, I'm sure) anxious for something we can do to help.  So, I'm spreading the word and collecting snowflakes to be sent from Marblehead area children in one large package."
