Workers inside the establishment said they thought it was an earthquake when the ceiling shook and debris and dust rained down inside, according to police.

Police officers arriving first on scene tended to the car’s occupants and evacuated the offices on the second floor as precaution given the extensive damage.

After police detectives finished photographing the scene, a tow truck from Bills Auto Clinic winched the vehicle back out of the hole in the side of the building.

The Marblehead Building Inspector and the Electric Light Department all responded to the scene and the power was shut-down to the complex as a precaution.

Traffic in the area known as the 5 Corners Intersection was snarled with emergency vehicles and on-lookers.

The investigation continues into the incident with multiple witness statements collected and the occupants of the vehicle are co-operating fully with the police.
