Storm Brings Accidents, Flooding

The following is an excerpt from the Marblehead Police log:

  • At 10:08 a.m. Wednesday, a plow clipped a box truck on Robert Road.
  • At 10:33 a.m. Wednesday, a woman called police to ask if there were special regulations during snow storms about speeding. The woman described motorists as "speeding," "ridiculous," "going nuts," and "dangerous" and said she has been splashed by several cars going by as she is trying to clean off her car.
  • At 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, police transported a man to the hospital after several people called police about a man driving a smashed car on Lee Street.
  • At 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, a resident of Oak Street called police after his sister drove by to check his home while he's been away. The sister saw a man and woman at his door holding shovels. When the sister asked them what they were doing, they told her they were going to ask if anyone needed help shoveling. The resident is now nervous people know he's not home.
  • At 11:21 a.m. Wednesday, a plow driver called police after a resident refused to move on Laurel Street.
  • At 1 p.m. Wednesday, police and fire responded to a flood on Greystone Road.
  • At 1:23 p.m. Wednesday, resident of Haley Road reported a giant puddle.
  • At 1:26 p.m. Wednesday, a Salem resident called police to alert them of a sailboat left in the water. The sail was in danger of being torn from its mooring. The Harbormaster was notified.
  • A police cruiser was hit by a plow while it was parked on Broughton Road at some point overnight Tuesday.
  • At 5:35 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a minor car accident on Smith Street.
