Teen Struck by Vehicle in Serious Condition
A 16-year-old Marblehead girl who was struck by a vehicle Thursday, Jan. 16, at Spring and Sewall streets was listed in serious condition Saturday mid-day.

Isis Elston was walking about 5:20 p.m when she was struck by the vehicle, police said.

The teen was placed on a backboard and transported to Salem Hospital, according fire and police.

The patient was later transferred to Mass General Hospital.

Police on the scene said the injured girl was conscious and alert after she was struck.

Police cordoned off a section of Sewall Street by the Spring Street intersection.
A commercial pick-up truck remained within the cordoned area. 

State police were called to the scene to perform a skid test, a Marblehead police log entry states.

No information is available yet on who was driving vehicle that struck the teen or whether the driver will be cited.

Marblehead detectives worked the scene, their investigation including taking photographs and talking with individuals.

The intersection of Spring and Sewall streets is a block away from Pleasant Street.
