Here is a list of things going on in and around Marlborough today.

5 Things You Need To Know Today: March 31

1. The National Weather Service says we will have another day in the upper 40s, but where we've sun for the past week, today will be replaced by clouds and a 30 percent chance of rain this afternoon.

2. Today is opening day of the 2011 Major League Baseball season. There are several games today, but the Boston Red Sox won't get going with the regular season until tomorrow against the Texas Rangers. Click here to see their schedule.

3.  Worcester Academy senior Carol Ann Davis and junior Stanley Capestany-Murkland, of Marlborough, were student leaders of a recently held Teach-in at Worcester Academy. "The teach-in was designed to provide Worcester Academy students and faculty with an opportunity to discuss issues of diversity including race, gender, sexual orientation, age, and socioeconomic status," said a release from the school. "Student leaders Carol Ann and Stanley attended several trainings to learn how to facilitate conversations on diversity.  Following the training they participated in a day-long Teach-in engaging their peers and faculty in discussions about diversity and its impact in their lives."

4. Stonehill College sophomore and lacrosse goaltender Rebecca Moore, of Marlborough, had an outstanding game against Bentley University Tuesday holding the team to only five goals on a couple dozen shots. Stonehill won the conference match-up 21-5.

5. Just a heads up — the northeast is in store for one of its namesake storms tonight and Friday. While several regions are predicted to get more than a foot of snow, Marlborough shouldn't see more than a couple inches.
