McDonald's Honors Local Marlborough Restaurant Manager with Prestigious National Award

Marlborough is home to one of the nation’s top McDonald’s restaurant managers: Elcida Salcedo. Elcida recently received the Ray Kroc Award, an annual performance-based award that recognizes the top performing McDonald’s restaurant managers in the country.

Named after McDonald’s corporate founder Ray Kroc, the award was established in 1999 to honor hardworking restaurant managers – those who make Ray Kroc’s vision of excellence come to life in restaurants and for customers each day. A select 142 managers nationwide were chosen this year to receive the Ray Kroc Award, an honor that comes with a cash prize, a Ray Kroc award trophy, ring and pin and a trip to Chicago for an awards gala on April 3 hosted by McDonald’s USA President, Jan Fields. When she returns from Chicago, Elcida will be the guest of honor at a celebration with her managers and crew for what she calls a “collective” accomplishment.

“Receiving the Ray Kroc Award is truly a great achievement and is something I have wanted to accomplish for a very long time,” said Elcida. “Working for McDonald’s the past 11 years has been an amazing experience, and this honor is a symbol of what I love to do, help customers and other employees. I would like to thank my outstanding Crew for their support; without them I would not have the opportunity to be recognized with the Ray Kroc Award.”

Ray Kroc built the McDonald’s business on the belief that greatness can only be achieved through the dedication and support of a Company’s people. The award was named after him based on his commitment to people and recognizing their contributions to the organization he helped establish.  Each year, this prestigious award is given to the top one percent of McDonald’s® U.S. restaurant managers to recognize their superior performance, work ethic, and love for the Golden Arches.

“Elcida being honored with the coveted Ray Kroc Award is a true testament to her unwavering commitment to excellence, building our business and taking care of our customers’ needs each and every day,” said David Balducci, Marlborough McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “We are proud to have Elcida as part of our McDonald’s family and commend her on this fantastic accolade.”

McDonald’s Owner/Operators and/or regional staff nominate restaurant managers for the Ray Kroc Award to recognize their hard work, dedication and commitment to McDonald’s.  A selection committee of McDonald’s Operations, Training and Human Resources team members then determine the Award winners for the region.
