Marlborough has its share of outdoor play areas, but they lose their appeal fast when snow covers the ground, or the temperature dips to single digits.

Hop 'n Jump, an Indoor Playground. The indoor room of inflatable bounce houses is the business of Gihan Touson and Emad Guirguis, a couple who say the idea was to create a safe, interior space that would allow parents to observe as children play.
The business opened in late November, at 72 Jefferson St., across from the ball park. It includes spaces inside for birthday parties, for tea parties, for decorating clay pots and piggy banks and a large play room for toddlers.
For larger parties or groups, the business has several packages available. For parents who want to stop by, the fee is flat per child: $10 each, with parents admitted free. The play time is not restricted. Children can stay as long as they wish.
The business model is for an affordable, inside playground that would allow parents to chat as they watch their children play. The play structures include the giant slide, a 15-foot by 18-foot structure that can accommodate eight to 10 children at a time, ages 3 to 8.
Older children, ages 9 to 12, are allowed on the slide six at a time.
Animal Kingdom, intended for toddlers, is also available. And the larger fun house, can accommodate eight to nine children at a time.
Hop 'n Jump is at 72 Jefferson St., Marlborough, in the Shoebox Building. Parking is available near the doors. The hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
