Marlborough Hospital Announces Job Cuts
Marlborough Hospital has cut 10 employee positions and reduced the work hours of 31 more people, according to a statement.

The reductions are "in response to declining volumes and reimbursements," the press release stated. "This is an initiative directed toward becoming more affordable for patients while continuing to focus on quality care and enhancing the patient experience."

According to the hospital statement, in the first quarter of the fiscal year, the hospital has experienced a significant decline in volume.
"The organization cannot continue to maintain financial sustainability without taking steps to right size the organization and reduce expenses."

Marlborough Hospital is a member of UMass Memorial Health Care.
