Nino Rurua, a native of Georgia, is working at The Sweet Spot in Oak Bluffs for a second summer.

Working Martha's Vineyard

Nino Rurua is here for a second summer all the way from the country of Georgia that sits between Turkey and Russia. Rurua works at the Sweet Spot in Oak Bluffs. The Sweet Spot is an ice cream and candy shop located in the Dockside Marketplace. Rurua took a break from scooping chocolate cones to talk to us about what it's like to work on Martha's Vineyard.

Q. Where are you from?

A. Georgia.

Q. Why did you come to Martha's Vineyard?

A. This year I am doing economic training. I'm the manager assistant. Last year I was doing a work and travel program.

Q. Why did you come to Martha's Vineyard as opposed to somewhere else in the United States?

A. I was participating in a program that organizes work and travel on this specific island. A lot of my friends had come here before. So I came here.

Q. What is your favorite part about working on Martha's Vineyard?

A. I like the place, I like the people. I like working with the customers.

Q. What is your dream job?

A. Oh, I don't know yet. I'm not sure.
