As part of their annual Bridging and Awards Ceremony on Friday, June 17th, Medfield Girl Scouts will celebrate 95 years of scouting, which started back in June of 1916.
The scouts and adult volunteers invite anyone who has been a Medfield Girl Scout in years past to join the celebration. There will be a special photo montage with images from 1916 all the way through present-day Girl Scouts. Richard DeSorgher of the Medfield Historical Society shared treasured photos from the early days of Medfield Girl Scouts. Guests at the celebration will also be served refreshments, including a huge cake, thoughtfully designed by the Medfield Girl Scouts.
The 95th anniversary celebration will follow the Bridging & Awards Ceremony, which begins at 6:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 8:15 p.m. Past Medfield Girl Scouts are welcome to attend the ceremony and watch the girls receive their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards as well as move from one level of Girl Scouting to the next, or join us at 8:15 p.m. for cake. For those wishing to end their evening earlier, there will also be refreshments served when the Daisies (kindergarten scouts) finish their portion of the bridging ceremony at 7:30 p.m.
Whether you want to relive fond scouting memories or just help present-day scouts celebrate this special day, join the Girl Scouts on June 17th. If you plan to attend, please R.S.V.P. to Linda Frawley at (508) 359-5858.
