Medfield softball coach Travis Taliaferro said freshman Jackie Flint had a "monter game" in the Warriors' 13-2 victory over rival Dover-Sherborn Wednesday.

He wasn't exageratting.

Flint went 4-for-4 with two RBI at the plate and picked up her first career victory on the mound, limiting D-S hitters to just two runs while striking out seven.

"I was really proud of Jackie's performance because D-S put runners
on in every inning, and played aggressively until the end," Taliaferro.

Medfield was fueled by a six-run first inning, keyed by a bases-clearing triple by Lucy Allen enroute to a four RBI day and reaching base four times. Jessi O'Loughlin scored two runs.

The win has Medfield 2-0 in the Tri-Valley League and 2-2 overall.

"Overall, we still have some work to do, but it was very easy to see our progress [Wednesday]," Taliaferro said. "Our defensive effort was excellent, especially in the outfield."

Medfield is back on the field Friday against Medway at 3:45 p.m.
