A recent Medford High graduate was severely injured in a pool accident on his senior trip in the Dominican Republic.
Eric Ferrazzani fractured a vertebrae, which compressed his spinal cord causing him to lose feeling and motor functions in his lower extremities, according to a GoFundMe fundraising page set up to help his parents with medical expenses.
Ferrazzani was in a hospital in the Dominican Republic for three days. He is now at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. His prognosis is unknown, according to the page.
The GoFundMe page has raised more than $14,000 in its first 48 hours.
