Good luck with your online shopping, on Cyber Monday.

5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 26

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.

1. Good morning, and welcome to Cyber Monday, the traditional day for online deals for the holiday. Some of the larger retailers posted them in advance. Others will be available today.

2. Are you the parent of an elementary aged child who is going through or recently went through a divorce? A new support group through Community Impact will help children whose parents are going through a divorce. The first meeting is at 5 today. More information is available through this link. This group is available to elementary-aged children in grades K-5.

3. The Milford Town Hall roof took a beating from Hurricane Sandy. The winds sheared off about two barrels of shingles, according to a memo to Milford selectmen from Town Administrator Louis Celozzi. The estimated cost of a roof replacement is $150,000 and would require Town Meeting approval.

4. Town officials plan to go out to bid in January or February for the replacement of Town Hall windows, and the replacement of the police station roof. Town Meeting members in October approved $480,000 for the windows and $385,000 for the roof.

5. Save the date: Sunday is the annual Milford Lions Breakfast with Santa, held at Milford High School. The event is from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and includes pancakes, photos with Santa Claus, face-painting, games and more. Admission is $4 at the door, with no charge for children under age four. See the event announcement for more information.
