Fire Damages Milford Home Along East Main Street

The Monday fire took several hours to put out, according to the Milford Fire Department.

MILFORD, MA — Milford and other local firefighters worked for several hours on Monday to put a fire in a home in the downtown area.

The fire broke out near 11 a.m. Monday at 38 East Main St. Smoke could be seen pouring from the home, which was built in the early 19th century.

According to Milford Deputy Fire Chief Mike DeTore, the one-alarm fire took two hours to get under control. There were no injuries reported, and DeTore said Monday night the cause was still under investigation.
