A Milford native and first baseman for the Minnesota Twins was honored this week as the co-recipient of Major League Baseball's American League first Player of the Week Award 2014.

Chris Colabello, a Milford High School graduate, and Los Angeles Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton both received the award, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette

Colabello hit 3.91 over the course of six games last week, with four doubles, one home run, 11 RBIs and four runs, and also led all American League players in RBIs while ranking second in doubles and tying for third in total bases, according to the Telegram.

Colabello, 30, made his MLB debut with the Twins last August.
