Police Log: Gas Station Dispute, Golfer Digging up the Field

Milford police responded to several disturbances, according to the March 27-29 police dispatch log, including a report that a shoplifter at Shaw's had left with $150 in stolen groceries. Police also received a complaint that a golfer was digging up an athletic field at Milford High.

Tuesday, March 27

6:13 p.m.: A caller from on Cedar Street phoned police to report a dispute with a gas station attendant. Police arrived, to find the dispute had been resolved.

6:47 p.m.: A woman reported seeing a male golfer on an athletic field at hitting golf balls and "digging up the field." An officer spoke to the putter.

9:18 p.m.: A complaint of loud music came in regarding an apartment on Water Street. An officer spoke to the apartment occupant.

9:45 p.m.: An officer reported seeing car parts and car debris near the Interstate 495 overpass on Haven Street.

Wednesday, March 28

12:04 a.m.: A caller reported smelling marijuana from a room at

12:14 a.m.: A nurse at asked for police assistance for a male patient who was making threats of violence. Police restored peace.

3:17 a.m.: An anonymous caller told police a woman at on South Main Street was possibly intoxicated. Police spoke to her.

6:50 a.m.: A one-vehicle crash was reported on Highland Street. An ambulance was called to the scene but the driver declined medical treatment. The crash left some property damage to a homeowner's property. A tow truck removed the Hyundai Sonata.

9:35 a.m.: A caller from RMX Northeast on West Street told police that in the past two weeks, three TVs had been thrown off the retaining wall into the parking lot.

12:19 p.m.: A woman reported her former boyfriend was stalking or harassing her. She said is waiting outside her Milford home when she leaves for work, and then follows her to her work outside town.

12:32 p.m.: reported that they had someone walk out the previous night with about $150 in shoplifted groceries.

1:58 p.m.: Following a crash involving one vehicle, on Highland Street at Purdue Drive, police were seeking a court summons to charge Tulio Roberto Machado, 28, of 20 Colonial Rd., Apt. 11, Milford, with marked lanes violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

5:59 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on Mt. Pleasant Street, police arrested James Richard Verduccio, 24, of 27 Grant St., Milford, on a charge of possession of a Class E drug.

6:10 p.m.: An anonymous caller said a man and a woman were involved in a physical argument on Main at Exchange streets. Police were unable to locate the couple.

Thursday, March 29

12:13 a.m.: A caller told police her daughter had gone to the gym,, and had not returned. The young woman is 24. The mother called back to report she had spoken with her daughter and "she is all set."

9:05 a.m.: A disturbance was reported on West Street. A caller observed two men in a Chevrolet sedan banging on a woman's door, which was now across the street. Police spoke to them.

12:19 p.m.: A caller from the reported that an elderly woman, who came in and had signs of "having a stroke" had left in a Lincoln, heading home to Cape Cod. The caller provided a registration. Milford police contacted the State Police with the information.
