At 12:23 p.m., Milford police responded to Milford Federal Savings and Loan on Main Street after receiving a report that a blue vehicle was parked in the lot of the business, inside of which two people were seen potentially smoking marijuana. The vehicle was gone upon police arrival.
At 8:09 p.m., police received a report from a Milford resident who claimed that after receiving a package from Craigslist, he found an item at the bottom of the box that appeared to be a grenade, but was unsure if the device was real. Milford Police contacted the Massachusetts State Police bomb squad to follow up, but the squad was cancelled en route after officers determined that the grenade was not live, as the core was not in it.
Tuesday, Feb. 4
At 1:29 p.m., police received a report from an Oliver Street resident who claimed two males were going door-to-door in the neighborhood and saying they were with an energy company, but it was unknown if the individuals had the permits to do so. The males appeared to be in their late 20s, with one of the males having blonde hair and the other having dark hair. Police were unable to locate the individuals, who were last seen heading towards Water Street, according to police records.
At 4:20 p.m., police received a report from Rosa's Villa Pizza on West Street; the caller reported that someone had ordered food and requested it be delivered to a Hopedale address, but upon delivery the resident at the address claimed they did not order food.
