Police Log: Teens Loitering at 7-Eleven, Copper Theft

Sunday, Sept. 23

2:02 p.m.: A structure fire was reported on Highland Street. Several callers reported seeing smoke coming out of th events and near the roof line. An officer responding found the home engulfed in smoke. Firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze. The homeowner was contacted and returned to the home.

4:41 p.m.: A caller on Taylor Street reported his neighbors were playing loud music. Police spoke to the individuals.

5:31 p.m.: Following a motor vehicle stop on West at West Maple streets, police were seeking a summons to charge Milton R. Rivera, 37, of 209 A Purchase St., Milford with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, having an unregistered motor vehicle and having an uninsured motor vehicle.

5:46 p.m.: Hopkinton Police asked police to issue a "Be on the Lookout" for a man driving a vehicle with Colorado plates. According to Hopkinton police, he had "pulled a knife" on a driver who was off the road with a broken axle on Haven Street.

6:08 p.m.: A disturbance was reported on West at West Maple streets. The motorist was arguing he had insurance and "will not let the tow truck driver leave."

6:18 p.m.: A group of teens were removed from the property of the following a loitering complaint.

6:42 p.m.: A caller reported loud music and children running in the parking lot on Senate Road. Police spoke to the individuals.

7:24 p.m.: A caller reported her neighbor on Orchard Street was "revving his engine." Police responded and found no issue at that time.

8:31 p.m.: A caller said she kicked her ex-husband out and he has threatened to take her children away. She asked to speak to an officer.

Monday, Sept. 24

5:26 a.m.: A man was reported to be giving the nurses a hard time at Milford Regional Medical Center. Police spoke to him and he "calmed down."

9:46 a.m.: A caller reported copper had been stolen over the weekend from the Milford Water Company property.

10:15 a.m.: A tractor-trailer reportedly hit a gate on Quarry Drive.

12:25 p.m.: A caller on South Main Street reported several items have been dropped off at his front door for a few weeks now, and asked to speak to police.
