MBTA Commuter Rail Station Now 'Natick Center Station'

The station in downtown Natick is now officially Natick Center Station.

Local officials celebrated the formal change of the MTA Commuter Rail station in downtown Natick to its new name: Natick Center Station. Officials welcomed the new name with an event at the station on Monday, followed by a reception at the Morse Institute Library.

“The MBTA is pleased to accommodate the town’s request for this change,” said MBTA General Manager Beverly Scott in a press release. “By making this change, the station is easily identifiable and the name reflects the immediate area of the station serves.”

Board of Selectmen Chair Josh Ostroff commented, “Natick Center is an emerging regional hub of culture, and the heart of the community. We are optimistic that in the coming years, the station will be upgraded to an accessible, modern facility open to all.”

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward Markey also remarked on the name changed complementing Natick’s continued revitalization.
