Natick Forever has scheduled its sixth annual candidate
forums for Wednesday, March 5, and March 12.
On March 5, two debates will be held – the candidates running for Board of Health, Robert Canning, the challenger, and incumbent Ian Wong, will debate between 6 and 7 p.m. The two are running for one seat.
The debate featuring the candidates for Board of Selectmen will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. John Connolly, a former selectman, and incumbent Nicholas Mabardy, are both running for two seats.
Both debates will be held at the Morse Institute Library.
The following Wednesday, a School Committee debate will be held in School Committee Meeting Room, in the third floor of the Natick Town Hall from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Timothy Kelley and Michael Dempsey are challenging Dirk Coburn and Amy Mistrot, both incumbents, for the two seats on the board.
Jimmy Brown, the chairman of Natick Forever, will be moderating all the debates. Candidates will be allowed opening and closing statements. They will also be asked questions and allowed time to respond and offer rebuttal, according to debate procedures put together by Natick Forever.
Other town offices face no competition.
Wednesday is also the last day to register to vote before the town election. The clerk’s office will be open until 8 p.m.
The election will be held on March 25. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
