Treat Cupcake Bar’s Head Baker Sparkles as one of Boston Zagat’s 30 under 30

Treat Cupcake Bar’s Head Baker Sparkles as one of Boston Zagat’s 30 under 30

Needham, Ma- Treat Cupcake Bar is home to edible works of art, ranging from allergy friendly Sesame Street themed cakes to steampunk wedding cupcake displays. Most importantly, Treat is where General Manager and Head Baker Adie Sprague sculpts her frosted creations.

Adie helped develop Treat Cupcake Bar before its launch in 2010, creating all the recipes available at the Needham and Chestnut Hill location for your tasting pleasure. The gluten free and vegan options are also the dedicated work of Sprague, who has a gluten and dairy intolerance herself. Anyone who has tried one knows she puts extra love into these delicious “Treats”

In December Adie, a Brandies University Alum, was chosen along with 29 other Boston area individuals for being one of the food industry’s “hottest up-and-coming” professionals.  Wowing guests at the 30 under 30 party with edible crafted oyster shells, cake pops, cakewiches and mini cupcakes. Before that, this summer Adie also made her national television debut on the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” Finishing runner up and garnering attention for her attention to her allergy friendly option as well as the interactive Mr. Hazelnut Head Cupcake.

“She’s incredibly talented. So talented. She takes something as simple as frosting a cupcake and turns it into a work of art, literally creating art on top of a cupcake. Have you ever tried to swirl frosting? Forget swirling frosting. Have you ever built a bear out of frosting sitting on top of a cupcake that is holding a heart boasting, “I love you”? Adie has and it actually looks like a bear. People take it for granted. I take it for granted, especially in a day and age where everything is done perfectly by machines. When I watch Adie work she is a machine. It is hard not to take her talent for granted.” - Marissa Z. Treat Cupcake Bar Chestnut Hill  Manager

Adie enjoys her craft immensely and teaches cake decorating class in their Needham location. If you would like to secure yourself a spot, have fun and meet this “Cupcake Wars” veteran. Check out their website and sign up. .
