ICYMI: Newton Native Rachel Platten Headlining New Year's Eve Webcast

The "Fight Song" singer joins a lineup that includes Gavin DeGraw and rapper Silentó.

NEWTON, MA – Newton native Rachel Platten, who skyrocketed to fame with her multi-platinum hit "Fight Song," will headline this year's live webcast on New Year's Eve alongside Gavin DeGraw.

Times Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, which organize the event in Times Square, announced the lineup, which includes rapper Silentó and New Year, New Voices selection Jojo Abot. Jonathan Bennett, star of "Mean Girls" and host of "Cake Wars," will host the live webcast, alongside correspondents Andrea Boehlke and Jeremy Hassell.

Allison Hagendorf, Global Head of Rock at Spotify and live announcer of the MTV Video Music Awards and MTV Movie Awards, returns for her fifth year as the event host.

Platten is slated to perform her hits "Fight Song," "Stand By You" and "Beating Me Up," before ringing in the New Year with a rendition of John Lennon's "Imagine."

The webcast will begin at 6 p.m. with the Ball Raising and continue commercial-free until the Ball Drop.
