Newton Firefighters Respond To Transformer Fire On Homer Street

NEWTON, MA — Newton firefighters responded to a transformer fire on Homer Street Tuesday afternoon, said the department in a Twitter post.

The fire broke out just before 1 p.m., said fire officials. In is unclear exactly what caused the blaze.

Residents are asked to avoid the area as Eversource responds to the incident.
