Body Found In Merrimack River Identified As Lawrence Teen

A body found in Haverhill Sunday was identified Monday as a Lawrence teen who went missing in March. Police ruled out foul play.

HAVERHILL, MA — A body found in the Merrimack River in Haverhill Sunday was identified as a missing Lawrence teen.

Sophonnut Dy, 13, was last seen on March 13 near the Duck Bridge in Lawrence, at 2:46 a.m. He was recorded by a surveillance camera.

Haverhill public safety officers responded to a 911 call reporting a body floating in the Merrimack River around 11 a.m. Sunday.
