BREAKING: Castricone Pleads Guilty

The former coach is convicted of child pornography and will serve just four months behind bars.

Former wrestling coach David Castricone pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child pornography in Salem Superior Court Wedesnday.

Judge David Lowy sentenced Castricone to 2-and-a-half years in jail with four months to be served and the balance suspended for three years with probation. Castricone, represented by attorney Tom Hoopes, also received 26 days credit of time served.

While on probation, Castricone is not allowed to have unsupervised contact with children under the age of 16, must wear a GPS monitor, must register as a sex offender and must complete sex offender evaluation and treatment if deemed necessary. He's also not allowed to attend any North Andover High School events.

Essex County Assistant District Attorney A.J. Camelio had recommended that Castricone serve three years in state prison.

"Had the case gone to trial, Camelio would have proved that Castricone possessed approximately 20 images of naked girls aged 6 to 9 on his computer and in printed form," Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett's office said in a statement. "The maximum penalty for possession of child pornography is five years in state prison."

Castricone was arrested in February 2011 and his about a stash of child pornography in his attic, suspicious behavior in the high school girls' locker room and plans for a thong factory in South America. Earlier this year,
