This week, our readers let us know that the School Committee has an opening for its appointment to the town's Financial Planning Committee and made suggestions to cope with school buses needing a tardy slip.

You Said: a Lot About Steve Jobs, New AT&T Store

of iPods, iPads, iTunes, a map app, Pixar stars such as Lightning McQueen and Buzz Lightyear and how Apple's co-founder Steve Jobs' products, philosophy, advice, inspiration, business savvy and work ethic are a true legacy.

The experiences ran the gamut. Computer engineer and author Ray Salemi talks about what it was like for Apple many years ago. "I was working at Sun Microsystems when we were considering buying the shell of a company that was Apple in 1996. This was back when they thought they were going to change the world with the failed Newton and their Performa Macs couldn't run for a hour without crashing. Even I had switched to a PC by then."

Salemi goes on to say, "He [Steve Jobs] returned, killed the Newton, created the iMac, and pretty much turned Apple around single-handedly."

Reader (and Apple end user) Cheryl Kelley mentions, "in our house alone, we now do Everyday Math on our iPads, listen to podcasts and music on our iPods, homework is done with help from the iMac [and] Macbook, [and] AppleTV is another way to access slideshows, Netflix, [and] iTunes. I think there is a little bit of Steve Jobs in every room in our house."

Another addition to the Northborough Crossing family of businesses, AT&T's new store will be open in late October. Reader Kimberly Rudolph posted a link for interested applicants seeking jobs at this store. AT&T is looking for Retail Sales Consultants and more.

The Northborough School Committee is looking to fill an opening for its appointment to the Financial Planning Committee for the Town of Northborough. Here is .

A reader makes a few suggestions hoping to alleviate some of the frustration that parents are feeling about school buses from , and Schools arriving habitually late home after dismissal. One of the ideas was have a particular parent, who lives a short distance from Peaslee, walk her child home from school. Regular Northborough Patch contributor, Liz Nolan, however, expressed concern for this thought due to the fact that there are few sidewalks for children and parents/caregivers to walk safely beside busy Brigham and Ridge Streets.
