Are Gas Prices Higher in North Reading?
A common complaint in North Reading is – the gas is too expensive.

This has been a topic that readers have written about on Patch and even the Board of Selectmen discussed at a meeting.

Residents say they travel to other towns to buy gas because North Reading’s is just too expensive. North Reading Patch readers on Facebooksaid they time their trips so they don’t have to get gas in North Reading.

They have a point.

A review of the gasbuddy.com website that regularly updates gas prices at stations found that North Reading stations are charging more than other stations. In fact, all North Reading stations on the site are at least 8 cents higher than the average gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gas, which is $3.37 per gallon in Massachusetts, according to AAA.

AAA said gas prices dropped three cents in Massachusetts since last week and decreased nine cents since a month ago. AAA said the range of gas prices in its weekly gas survey was between $3.23 to $3.59.
