On Friday, Norton police arrested two subjects at the Campbell House who were attempting to remove piping and wires from the historic site.

At 12:38 p.m. March 9, Detective Jeffrey Zaccardi observed a suspicious looking male and female on the property of 217 West Main St., known as the Campbell house in front of the Norton Middle School. Patrolman Scott Sweeting and Patrolman David Ruskey responded to assist Zaccardi. Officers noticed a door to the house to be open and searched the vacant building. Officers encountered the pair in the building and placed them under arrest. Officers discovered that the two were attempting to remove copper piping and electrical wires from the building.

David Pelletier, 24, and Jessica Drost, 23, both of S. Main Street, Attleboro, were placed under arrest and transported to the Norton Police Department before being transported to the Attleboro District Court for arraignment.  Pelletier and Drost were both charged with breaking and entering in the daytime with intent to commit a felony, malicious destruction of property, under $250 and trespassing.
