The Lunch Box Deli, 859 Boston Providence Hwy. in Norwood, is inviting the community to write warm wishes and send their prayers for the recovery of Norwood resident Joseph Sharkey.

Sharkey is a student at Brown University and is currently in the hospital recovering from a head injury.  On May 13  Sharkey was speaking with a group of people when suddenly a man walked up to him and punched him in the head, causing severe injuries.

Beth Saccone is the owner of the Lunch Box Deli and knows the Sharkey family.

"The Sharkey's are my friends and neighbors," she said. "There are many of us here in Norwood  that have sons the same age as Joe, and they all played and grew up together.  We all feel so helpless that sending our prayers and writing down words of encouragement for Joe and his family are the least we can do at this point in time."

Beth Saccone is inviting the community to show their support by signing the banners in front of the deli.  On the banner it reads, "We Love You Joe! Get Well Soon!"

Once filled, the banners will be delivered to Joseph Sharkey and his family.

"I am sure the family will need all of our love and support in the many months ahead," Saccone said.
