Update: State Police Investigating Accident Near Sonic
No charges have been filed in the accident yet.

Update: At about 3:15 p.m. today, State Police from the Danvers barracks responded to a crash involving a truck and a moped on Route 1 North, north of Lake Street in Peabody.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Roland Cormier indicates that a 41-year-old man from Peabody was traveling on Route 1 North on a moped in the breakdown lane. A Volvo truck, which was traveling in the right travel lane, turned right into a parking lot and struck the moped.
The operator of the moped was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The operator of the truck, a 48-year-old man from Winslow, Maine was uninjured in the crash.

Cormier was assisted in the investigation by the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, and State Police Crime Scene Services.
No charges have been filed at this time.
